This guide will serve as a close guide for you, who will accompany you in Austria and Germany, along routes that are easy to find your way around. In Germany, from the Alpine route and the romantic route in the south, to the historic fortresses along the Rhine and the Black Forest in the west, to the ancient and restored cities in eastern Germany, to the whale sites in the north. The leading cities are Berlin, Munich and Dresden. If you come to Austria for a "field visit", choose several routes according to your personal preference. On a first visit to Austria, it is assumed that the choice will fall on the Tyrol region, the "lake cluster" area in Salzkammergut, or perhaps a tour along the Danube, (see the list of itineraries). If you are planning a "city trip", visit the three biggest cities - Vienna, Salzburg and Innsbruck. The guide allows you to integrate between the different routes, "plow" the big cities and the famous tourist sites, and even make forays into fascinating corners, where you will discover the uniqueness of the entire region. At the beginning of each guide, a map of the hiking routes appears, and when you look at the description of a certain route, you can locate it on the map of all routes by its serial number, which is identical to the one in the description. The guide contains varied personal recommendations both regarding the time and effort that should be devoted to each of the tours and visits, and regarding restaurants, cafes, night clubs and hotels, based on the author's many years of experience.
